India Post, previously known as Department of Post, is a government-operated postal system in India, which is under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Communications. Generally called "the Post Office" in India, it is the most widely distributed postal system in the world. Warren Hastings had taken initiative under East India Company to start the Postal Service in the country in 1766. It was initially established under the name "Company Mail". It was later modified into a service under the "Crown" in 1854 by Lord Dalhousie. Dalhousie introduced uniform postage rates (universal service) and helped to pass the India Post Office Act 1854 which significantly improved upon 1837 Post Office act which had introduced regular post offices in India.India Post Office has officially released a recruitment notification of the India Post GDS Recruitment 2022 on website https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in/. Through this latest Recruitment, the India Post Office invites online applications to fill their 38,926 vacancies for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS). Also, the India Post GDS Recruitment 2022 online application will be started from 2nd May 2022 to 5th June 2022.

Qualification
Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of GDS.
Compulsory knowledge of Local Language: The candidate should have studied the local language. e. (Name of Local language) at least up to the 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects].
Knowledge of Cycling: Knowledge of Cycling is a pre-requisite condition for all GDS posts. In case of a candidate has knowledge of riding a scooter or motor cycle, that may be considered as knowledge of cycling also.
Age Limit
Minimum age: 18 years, Maximum age: 40 years
How to Apply This Post
Notification
Open the India Post official website indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
Tick on the notification live circles will be showing the names of all the Indian states.
Select the state for whom you want to apply and then choose the district of the state which you selected.
After completing the notification process, proceed towards the ‘Registration’ stage.
Registration

Move your cursor on the ‘Registration’ option and then tick on the ‘Registration’ box provided under the drop-box of the section.
After ticking the registration, the new web page will be asked to validate your basic details.
Start submitting those specific details and then click on the ‘Submit’ option.


Also, fill up the rest of the details needed on the web page then click on the ‘Preview’ box.
After previewing, tick on the ‘Declaration Box’ and conclude by pressing the ‘Submit’ option given at the end of the page.
Then you will be provided with a registration number that you will be needed in the future stages of the application process.
Your registration will be completed, to take out the hardcopy of the application form click on the ‘Print’ button and keep it secure for future needs.
Fee Payment

After completing the registration process, come back to the main page and then select the ‘Pay Online’ given under the drop-box of ‘Fee Payment’.
To pay the fee, enter your registration number and the details about your fee will be provided on your device screen.
You can choose the method through which you want to pay the fee and then tick on the ‘Make Payment’ box.

It’s mandatory for you to pay the fee otherwise you won’t be able to proceed further for the next stages.
Apply Online

The candidate application form page will get open, enter your registration number and circle you are applying for under the ‘Verification Details’.
An OTP will be sent and enter it inside ‘Enter OTP’ then mark on the ‘Next’ box.

Fill up the particulars asked on the new form and then tap on the ‘Save & Continue’.
Once you are done by filling up all those particulars end the filling up of the application form by ticking on the ‘Declaration Box’ and then on the ‘Save & Continue.
Your application form will be submitted successfully, if you want to take out the printout of the form press the ‘Print’ box and you will get your India Post GDS application form.
